Back in 2002, Carlson decided to rid his life of unnecessary evils. A few years prior, the news anchor quit smoking. However, there was something else he wanted to do to lead a more positive life. he decided to stop drinking in order to eliminate the “unpleasant mornings” despite “pleasant nights.” He went cold turkey! However, as far as smoking goes, he did take up gum chewing to combat cravings.

Although we spoke about his father, Carlson’s mother is not a topic discussed much. When he was young, his biological mother left the family to pursue dreams of becoming an artist. She picked up and moved to France. However, his father, the former U.S. ambassador to Seychelles and very active Republican, was very capable of taking over.
