What Happened At The Altamont Concert

During a 1969 concert at the Altamont Speedway, the club worked as event security. Even though no one knows for sure who hired the Hells Angeles, the general consensus among the attendees and the musicians was that it was not a good idea. They beat up rowdy concertgoers, but things got even worse when a man called Meredith Hunter took out a pistol. The members of the Hells Angels attacked him right away. A member called Alan Passaro even fatally stabbed him as he was on the ground. The Hells Angels member was arrested for murder but got acquitted because he did it in the name of self-defense.

As a matter of fact, the show has featured real members such as Rusty Coones, Sonny Barger, Chuck Zito, and David Labrava. Kurt Sutter, the creator of the show, even hired Labrava to be the technical advisor in an attempt to make things as accurate and as realistic as possible. Aside from that, he also worked in front of the camera by playing a character by the name of “Happy.”
