In late 2019, some fishermen discovered a similar rock lying at the bottom of a river. This was also in Argentina, although a different part of the country. It had the same pattern found on Juan’s, but it was a lot smaller than the shell. It was a little more than a fragment, but it was still examined by scientists. Thanks to the distinctive pattern on the shell, the scientists already had a lead about its origins. But what on earth could this fossil actually be?

According to them, the fishermen caught an egg. The one in the ranch was an adult. At any rate, both fossils came from a certain prehistoric creature. But what exactly is a glyptodon?
