Lena
Jerry goes out with Lena, who is an organizer of an AIDS walk. Jennifer Guthrie plays this character in an episode called “The Sponge.” Kramer is bullied during the walk because he is not wearing a ribbon, while Elaine tries to look for contraceptive sponges. The episode came out in 1995 and has become known for its display of support for the women’s rights cause. At any rate, Jerry is shocked to find Lena’s closet full of sponges. She ends up dumping him after learning that he lied to her about his pant size. After her time on the show, Guthrie appeared in NYPD Blue and Sex and the City.

In “The Chinese Woman,” Jerry develops an interest in a woman portrayed by Angela Dohrmann. she introduces herself as Donna Chang over the phone. When they finally meet, Jerry is disappointed to see that she is not Asian like he expected her to be. The only reason he goes out with her, after all, is that he thought she is Chinese. You can imagine his disappointment when he finds out that her last name is the shortened form of “Changstein.” Dohrmann has appeared in a number of TV shows over the years. These days, she is a comedy teacher at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania.
