Tom Selleck talked about the difficulties of starring in Magnum P.I. He told Closer Weekly, “Magnum, P.I. went to 163 shows and we still had ground to cover, and I wasn’t tired of it. I was tired from it because I was in every shot.” He probably prefers the freedom he enjoys with Blue Bloods since there are plenty of scenes without the character he portrays.

It wasn’t the only reason why he wanted to leave, however. “I quit Magnum to have a family,” Selleck explained. “It took a long time to get off the train, but I try very hard to have balance.” It’s fantastic to hear a great actor who chooses his family over his career!
