Early humans had many predators they had to fend off. This was the reason they had to look up a way to keep themselves safe. The huge and spikey mace courtesy of glyptodon tails made for good weapons. The bones were also used for crude tools. On top of that, killing a glyptodon made for a good hunting “show” since they were so big. As you can see, the creatures were useful to humans back in the day.
